Philadelphia Center for Emotionally Focussed Therapy Leader:

Ruth Jampol, PhD

I am a clinical psychologist who originally trained in humanistic psychotherapy and structural family therapy. Before discovering EFT, I spent many years providing therapy and supervision to diverse populations. I also created and ran a family focused residential treatment program for troubled children and adolescents and consulted for many years to a program providing foster care and residential treatment to children with histories of abuse and neglect.

Fifteen years ago while searching for an effective approach to couples therapy, I read about Sue Johnson and her attachment-based model and I’ve never looked back. I am a founding Board member of the Philadelphia Center for EFT and an EFT Certified Therapist and Supervisor. My passion for helping therapists master this model is now the heart of my work; I have wound down my direct practice and focus on providing individual and group supervision to therapists at all stages of their EFT journey. As a supervisor, my goal is to help therapists understand the simple elegance of the model while applying it with nuanced clinical wisdom.

If you are a therapist hoping to learn more about cutting edge therapy, or a potential client looking for highly effective therapy for yourself, your relationship, or your family, you’ve come to the right place!
